'My Melody'
Amongst the baffles of time
Amongst the baffles of time
Whence God conducts His symphony of life
Often come the half-notes and measures
Of humbleness and strife.
♫The chorus may be His
But the refrain is all mine
For you are the melody
The music of my life.
But upon His mighty choir
Resounds rhythmic timbre and tone
With fragrant swells and crescendos
Trilling lyrics of heaven's tome.
♫The chorus may be His
But the refrain is all mine
For you are the melody
The music of my mortal home.
You've given me the reason
For smiling once again
You've filled my life with peaceful dreams
And you've become my dearest friend.
You've shared your innermost secrets
And your trust you've given me
You've drawn from me how to feel again
To laugh, and love, with glee.
I once thought my world had ended
And, all lastly torn apart
But am now forever young and grateful
For it is you who moved my heart.
So God does indeed answer prayers
With ditties and concerts alike
He's fulfilled a promise to one in His chorus
And taken away his fright.
♫The chorus may be His
But the refrain is all mine
For you are 'My Melody'
The music of my life.
